   Time has come for the next version of the plugin to be released for everyone to use it. I have added some nice features and fixed some small bugs. Here is what has been changed in this version:

   • More than one gallery on a page or post works fine now
   • Management of default settings is seperated from the gallery creation. Means that now editors can also create galleries but are not allowed to change the settings.
   • If you do not want to use the default settings for a gallery you can set values that should be used - the default values will not be changed.
   • You can now have a different size and Backgroundcolor for each galery if you like.
   • You can edit the captions for each photo individually now!
   • You can change some settings of the gallery without recreating the thumbs.
   • Some changes on the user interface to have the common WordPress look and feel

   Quite a long list - I hope that everything is working as expected! If you should notice something strange let me know about it by posting on this forum. To be on the safe side you should recreate your thumbs and xml files if you want to use all new features, but it will also work fine without recreating them.

   To update the plugin just replace the old files with the new ones.

   You can download the plugin in version 0.5 here.

   I have relased a version called 0.5.2 right now - there are only minor changes in the script, so no need to update from 0.5 if this version is running fine for you.

   Now you can also create galleries if this takes longer than the php value max_execution_time and the code that is created is valid xhtml again.

   Ok, second version released for today...0.5.3, only error that has been fixed is that the plugin should now also work fine for installations where WordPress URL is not the same as the Blog URL.

   I fixed some small bugs with the version I released right now (0.5.4):

   • After you did edit the caption some setting did not appear anymore
   • You can now enter a new caption when the field has been empty before
   • When the image was not uploaded correctly a lot of error message were shown while the thumbs have been created and the images were only black afterwards
   • Some XHTML code fixes in the backend

   I have a conflict between Simpleviewer 0.5.4 (on a Wordpress 2.2.1) and Admin drop menus 2.2 (http://www.yellowswordfish.com/my-wordpress-plugin-library/admin-drop-menus-wordpress-plugin/)

   The simpleviewer creates two menues, one in Edit and one in Options. These are pointing to the same php-file but two different functions. It looks like the simpleviewer can’t handle when admin drop menus are activated (works perfect when inactivated). Admin Drop menues makes the same call (.../wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-simpleviewer/simpleviewer.php) on both choices which means that it keeps calling the first of the two functions in the php-file (option-function).

   Is it possible to change wp-simpleviewer?
   Appreciate help.

   I will check this when I find some time - but for me it sounds more like Admin drop menus is the plugin that need some changes, because my plugin does nothing that is not according to WP standards (correct me if I am wrong...).

   We'll see!

   Now this change as well as the sorting of the image files by alphabet is released in version 0.5.5.

   The brand new version version 0.5.6 does now support directory names containing an "-" and backgroundcolor with letters in it(like F6F6F6). Also the thumbnail size parameter has been removed as simpleviewer will always show the thumbs with the same size so changing this value confuses more than it helps.
   When now bugs show but this is a hot candidate for a version 1.0!

    The conflict between Simpleviewer and Admin drop Menus was a localization-error in Admin Drop menus that I helped Yellowswordfish to solve. I will try your new version also :-)
