Translators wanted!

    Hi all,

    Starting from version 1.1 this plugin has startet to support localizations. Right now the plugin has been translated to:

    • English
    • German
    • Chinese (simplified&traditional)
    • Danish
    • Dutch (Thanks to Sitekracht)
    • Spanish
    • Polish (right now only in the development version)
    • Swedish (right now only in the development version)
    • French

    These translations are also included but are not up to date for the current version of the plugin:

    • Italian
    • Hebrew

    I am still searching for others to help me to translate this plugin into their language. The procedure for that is quite easy and should not take you more than 1h:

    1. Download the development version linked above and upload it to your WP-blog.
    2. Get poEdit and install it on your PC, you need this tool to perform the translations.
    3. Go to the folder called wp-simpleviewer/languages, you will find a file called wp-simpleviewer.po that you have to rename to include your locale (that's what you have configured in your wp-config.php file), for German this is: wp-simpleviewer-de_DE.po
    4. Open this file in poEdit and start your translation.
    5. When you are finished with it and you saved the .po file a new file called wp-simpleviewer-de_DE.mo has been created.
    6. Upload both files to the wp-simpleviewer/languages folder and test it on your blog.
    7. Send both files to me via eMail and I will add them to the new version when it is released: wp-simpleviewer°a°t°fuggi82°de

    To aviod that work is done twice please reply to this topic when you work on a translation for a language.

    I already got Chinese translations files by mail, thanks to Liu!
    They are in the develpment version already.

    I would very much like to do the danish translation.

    Just wanted to say that before anyone else bid in. It should be ready within a week.

    Great news ! I'll be working on the french version then... Should be done in a week at most, but I might be able to do it by the end of the week.

    Danish translation is done and sent. I would very much like to link to it from wordpress.dk. We try to place all danish plugins and themes there.

    Hi,
    I am starting to add the Italian version. Only one question about special characters. I need to use accented letters as ò - à - è - é - ecc... I have to put, for instance, the &egave; codes or what?

    Thanks Tiziano,

    I just saw that two strings have not been translated but the original text has been replaced with the Italian one. The Italian text is:
    Mostra link per il download
    and
    o partire da una bozza.

    Can you check which strings they are in the original file and change this back? Otherwise the language file won't work properly...

    Let me know if anything is unclear!
