fatal error, images erased from subdirectory

(2 posts)

  1. I know this error has been addressed in previous forum posts, but I'm still experiencing this problem after fixing possible mistakes.

I upload my gallery images to a subdirectory called /performance/ and place regular images in /reg/ and pre-cropped thumbs in /tn/. I make the performance subdirectory writable for everyone (777). When I select the performance gallery and click "create gallery files...", the images files I uploaded to the server are deleted, and I get the following error message:

    ---------------------
GD library version 2 or later is required. You are running version: bundled (2.0.34 compatible)

Now the images and XML file for the selected folder will be created:

The directory you selected does not contain any jpg, png or gif files. Please upload them first (and ignore the rest of the page)!

    Yeah, we are done!
    Edit captions for gallery: performance

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home2/heathey4/public_html/alianawp/wp-content/plugins/wp-simpleviewer/wp-simpleviewer-admin.php on line 992

I've re-uploaded my images several times, but they keep getting erased every time I try to create a gallery. Why are my images files getting erased when I create the gallery?

Using WP-SimpleViewer 1.5.3 and WordPress 2.8.5 (same problem occurred even when I was using 2.8.0).

  2. There is no need to upload regular images and thumbnails, only the original images have to be uploaded (e.g. /performance/img1.jpg, /performance/img2.jpg, ...). The plugin will then create the directories reg and tn and the images in them.
