I tested it and indeed it looks much better with resampling. This is in the new development version: http://wp-simpleviewer.fuggi82.de/my-downloads/click.php?id=3

Is the quality better when you change the code in wp-simpleviewer-admin.php in line 1183 from
imagecopyresized(...
to
imagecopyresampled(...
?
I did not know that there are two functions available for this, but from what I found in the web, the resampling provides a better quality. I will also test it myself...

I found a solution to the problem. Switched to the Picasa template instead. Still not sure why the images would not scale correctly though.

The images I am uploading are 600 pixels wide. When I create the gallery files I set the maximum image width to 500 pixels. The gallery creation works with no errors, however the quality of the gallery images and the thumbnail images is very poor. It appears that the process is not actually re-scaling the images using the gd library, but is just simply re-sizing them. Here is an example page:

http://www.bronx-terminal.com/?page_id=1035

I don't see any problems with the installation or the gd library setup.

Any suggestions?
