Hi - I installed SimplePress (btw, great plugin!), though I wanted to have a page before only with few icons, like a thumbnail for each album with only one picture, and by clicking on it, then the album would open with all the pages.
Is there a way to do that?

Also, I tried changing the colors of the background and frame, and saw another post that it's not recognizing letters, just numbers, but what if I want the background to be white? Any suggestions for an alternative to #ffffff?

Thanks!!

Yes, the intention of the plugin was to reduce the size of small images. I put the "use originals" option on the list of possible new features.

I noticed that the GD library decreases the sharpness of original pictures if it is asked to produce pictures that have the ame size than originals. If you upload a 600 pixels picture and you ask an output at 600 pixels too (100% quality), the sharpness is reduced. The workaround if found is to upload 800 pixels originals and ask for 600 pixels output. Then the result is perfect.

We are also experiencing the sharpness and color change issues with simpleviewer. We mostly see the issue with portrait layout images, not with landscape. How can we fix that? Let us know.

Thanks,

I do not really get which photos on your page you are reffering to...The images are resampled with the gd-library, probably this algorythm cannot match with the ones used in programs like photoshop.

I have several images up and some look sharp while others don't at all. I've tried adjusting the sharpness and sizes, but that doesn't seem to change. By dragging those photos onto my browser, I can see that they look sharp until I upload them onto my site. I have a color problem with some images too, but my concern right now is the sharpness. You can see what i mean by visiting my site: www.traciehowe.com . Gallery 1 will also show you 2 of the same photos with sharpness adjustments on one, but with no visible difference. Can anyone help? Thanks!

When you open the xml file you can see, which color is configured in it, your parameters are textColor="0x008000" frameColor="0x0A5692" and wpSimpleviewerBackgroundColor="808080", that means the text should be green.

The information from the optionsmenu is the default, you can overwrite it manually when you create the gallery.

Thanks for that info. But my Firefox kills his cache, whenever I leave it. It´s configured. For testing, I often discard the cache manually and it´s not the reason why he shows the wrong colors. I assume, something is overwriting the original information from the options-menue, but can´t imagine when.
Some other ideas? I´m not using any proxy-server ...

When you change the cml file that containt the colorinfos, you should always delete all temporary internetfiles so that the browser really reloads the file. Or you should change the settings that no files are cached at all. Or this is proxyserver related...

In the options you can set the color of text and background.
My wp-simpleviewer-plugin works fine, but it displays the wrong colors to caption-texts. Changes on the options-site or the edit-captions-dialog for a single gallery does not take any effect.
I realized different styles on different computers. (On my own, the captions are white, on the computer of my wife, the captions are green).
Maybe a problem with the css-core-files?
No matter what I set fpr text-color, on my computer, the captions allmost stay white.

Who can help?
